Sure.

Speaker:

Welcome to the Emily and Paris fans podcast.

Speaker:

I created this podcast for fans, just like you will love Emily and Paris and

Speaker:

are super excited to binge out on the new season of Emily and Paris on Netflix.

Speaker:

Let's watch the new season together and talk about fashion, love,

Speaker:

relationships, and life in Paris.

Speaker:

I'm dimple.

Speaker:

Dang.

Speaker:

I'm your host.

Speaker:

I'm a marketing expert podcast, coach and podcaster state bar T.

Speaker:

hello everybody.

Speaker:

And wishing you all a happy new year.

Speaker:

And I hope that you guys have been able to binge out on Emily and

Speaker:

Paris during the new year's weekend.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So we're going to talk about what happens on episode three.

Speaker:

So in episode three, it is Emily's birthday.

Speaker:

You guys woo-hoo.

Speaker:

So Emily is planning to celebrate her birthday and she

Speaker:

decides to have a dinner party.

Speaker:

then she also invites Gabriel to the dinner party, even though she's been

Speaker:

acting kind of weird around him.

Speaker:

And it seems like he keeps chasing her around like a little puppy and

Speaker:

she just kinds of runs off and runs away, but you guys, here's the deal.

Speaker:

She's got an ulterior motive for inviting Gabriel to the birthday party.

Speaker:

She is trying to get Camille back with him.

Speaker:

So I think at this point she's got a really guilty conscious,

Speaker:

and she knows that she messed up.

Speaker:

And I think she really likes being friends with Camille.

Speaker:

And now she feels like a bad friend.

Speaker:

And in reality, the truth is.

Speaker:

Yeah, maybe you're a bad friend, but maybe also this guy Gabriel was

Speaker:

supposed to be the love of your life.

Speaker:

And maybe did it occur to you that Camille is not the one that's supposed

Speaker:

to be with him and you are, but yet you keep resisting my dear and

Speaker:

you are just being very stubborn.

Speaker:

So Emily, you're a little stubborn one, you know, I think you come to Paris.

Speaker:

And we've already done the deed with him.

Speaker:

It's kind of too late to go back and undo that.

Speaker:

So no matter what you try to do to get them back together, the reality

Speaker:

is you basically slept with him and that's not going to change Emily.

Speaker:

So, you know, I think you might want to just rethink everything, but anyway,

Speaker:

all right, so Emily's a character.

Speaker:

So she decides to invite Gabriel and also Camille, and then she's

Speaker:

telling Camille, oh, Gabriel's going to come to the party as well.

Speaker:

And Camille's like, well, I don't want to come then.

Speaker:

And she's like, no, no, it's fine.

Speaker:

You guys have not reached out to each other.

Speaker:

You're both being stubborn and this way you get to see each other.

Speaker:

You can talk it out.

Speaker:

You can.

Speaker:

Get back together.

Speaker:

So hesitantly, Camille agrees and Gabriel catches up with Emily and he's

Speaker:

questioning her about the whole Matthew thing, because apparently in the previous

Speaker:

episode, Emily was supposed to be going on a trip to Sandra bay with Matthew,

Speaker:

but then Matthew is nowhere to be found.

Speaker:

And instead he discovers that she's with.

Speaker:

And he's like, what is going on?

Speaker:

Cause something's not adding up.

Speaker:

And of course she didn't tell him at that time, but then she disclosed what

Speaker:

happened and Matthew overheard the conversation that they were having.

Speaker:

And he found out that she had been sleeping with the chef and

Speaker:

he wasn't too happy about that.

Speaker:

And you can't blame him.

Speaker:

He actually thought that he was.

Speaker:

Potentially have a relationship with Emily, but Emily was actually

Speaker:

in love with the chef Gabriel.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Let's talk about peer for a moment.

Speaker:

So Pierre, he is something else you got.

Speaker:

And he's just got this frown on his face and those eyebrows, even, they always

Speaker:

have the frown and he never really smiles, you know, but he always looks angry.

Speaker:

And if I do say so myself, Pierre, you're a bit intimidating.

Speaker:

So peer's upset about the whole account situation.

Speaker:

And apparently Julian saved the situation.

Speaker:

So then he got assigned to the account and Emily got pulled off the account.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

As you can imagine, Emily is not taking that too well.

Speaker:

She's not happy about being pulled from the account because she does have

Speaker:

the certain bit of competitiveness, you know, with her coworkers.

Speaker:

And I think she likes to be the one who saves the day.

Speaker:

And in this instance, Emily, didn't say the day it was Julian.

Speaker:

So Julian and Emily are now bickering because Julian's like, well, I

Speaker:

deserve the account and you know, and so she's like fine, whatever.

Speaker:

And then in the next scene, Camille takes Emily to a spa and she has

Speaker:

a bunch of her friends there.

Speaker:

So she wants Emily to meet all of her friends.

Speaker:

And what's interesting is everyone at the spot.

Speaker:

It's basically topless and pretty much, you know, naked, but Emily's in

Speaker:

her robe and not only is Emily in her room, her robe is like really tightened

Speaker:

up she's kind of like, oh my God.

Speaker:

And I think like what it made me think of as a fact that she

Speaker:

slept with Gabriel, I think.

Speaker:

She just was like, so ashamed to show her body.

Speaker:

Cause she's like, oh my God, like I feel guilty.

Speaker:

You know, like just the fact of seeing Comey, naked.

Speaker:

And then she's going to be like, oh my God, she's the one who was sleeping

Speaker:

with him and that's the girlfriend and now I am sleeping with him.

Speaker:

So I think that was that.

Speaker:

So while they're at the spa, they're all sitting in the

Speaker:

sauna and they're talking and.

Speaker:

Come he says, Emily's one of the good ones.

Speaker:

So that's funny because Emily knows that she's not really one of the good

Speaker:

ones, cause she's literally betrayed Comey by hooking up with Gabriel You

Speaker:

know, she's really kind of feeling uncomfortable at this point, but

Speaker:

Emily girl, you're stuck there for a little bit longer and you just can't

Speaker:

weasel your way out of this one, hun.

Speaker:

So the girls are questioning Comey about, Gabriel and her, and Kenny's.

Speaker:

You know, we fight like every couple, but this time it just feels different.

Speaker:

So when she says that, you know, that she's already sensing that

Speaker:

something is up, it's just that she can't pinpoint exactly what's going

Speaker:

on, but you know, she's a smart girl.

Speaker:

I think she figures like something is really off and she's probably trying to

Speaker:

get to the bottom of it, to be honest.

Speaker:

and then one of the friends, says to Comey, do you think there's somebody that.

Speaker:

And before coming can even answer.

Speaker:

Emily is like, no, no, no, there, there there's no one else.

Speaker:

And that's just funny because the guilt is like written all over her

Speaker:

face and she just is like, oh my God.

Speaker:

And she knows it's her.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And then what's interesting is they're also talking about like the pan.

Speaker:

So, you know, in the previous episode you saw that.

Speaker:

Cami was at her place and they were getting ready to go out.

Speaker:

And she was, looking at the pan and the initials.

Speaker:

And now the pan comes up again because they're saying that the one thing

Speaker:

that's really important to Gabriel is, you know, his restaurant and his

Speaker:

cooking and his pants and that all of his fans have initials on them.

Speaker:

And it's ironic because again, Emily knows that he gifted her a pan with his initials

Speaker:

that is still sitting in her apart.

Speaker:

Emily girl, why don't you go hide that thing?

Speaker:

I mean, you're going to get yourself in trouble.

Speaker:

One of these days would that pan, okay.

Speaker:

You just got to go hide it or donate it or give it back to

Speaker:

Gabe since he didn't move away.

Speaker:

Emily.

Speaker:

So Emily and come here or hanging out and walking down the street and

Speaker:

Emily's telling her that she got pulled off of, peers account and, you know,

Speaker:

that, oh, there's Matthew sitting at the cafe and she's like, oh, I don't

Speaker:

want to be seen anywhere near him.

Speaker:

And so kind of me decides to go approach Matthew after Emily leaves.

Speaker:

And they're having a conversation in French and she's basically like, Hey,

Speaker:

you know, why did you do this to Emily?

Speaker:

And why did you pull her off the account and all this?

Speaker:

And he said that she was having an affair with someone else.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Cammy's like, oh, that's interesting.

Speaker:

Like she's got a secret lover, but she never told me.

Speaker:

And here I am thinking like, she's all like alone.

Speaker:

And at this point she doesn't really know that anything's

Speaker:

going on between Emily and Gabe.

Speaker:

So in the next year, Emily's at the office and she gets a special

Speaker:

delivery of deep dish, Chicago pizza, which everybody, if you have not,

Speaker:

had it, if you do go to Chicago, you're going to have to go try it.

Speaker:

That's the best.

Speaker:

I mean, that's the only time you're allowed to have that many calories, in

Speaker:

one weekend is if you are visiting.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So then let's also talk about the fashion and this one.

Speaker:

So Julian is wearing this blazer and it's got these beautiful

Speaker:

red, vivid, red flowers on it, and his pants actually match.

Speaker:

So they're also like floral red pants.

Speaker:

And what's interesting is so when he carries the boxes of the piece of

Speaker:

away, I'm thinking of like the colors and the boxes are similar to his outfit.

Speaker:

So I think that was very much planned by the costume people.

Speaker:

And that was really good.

Speaker:

And Emily's wearing this equestrian jacket, which looks really good on her.

Speaker:

And, and she's kind of just goes with her dark hair.

Speaker:

So what's interesting is Sylvie, you know, so I'm going to rewind a bit.

Speaker:

Sylvie came in and the look on her face was like, Oh gross.

Speaker:

Like we don't eat that in France.

Speaker:

this is not the type of food we eat.

Speaker:

And she was just, kind of disgusted and Sylvie showed her unapproval the

Speaker:

Chicago deep dish pizza, but Sylvie, you haven't tried it girl, but I

Speaker:

know you're trying to maintain your.

Speaker:

Body and your image that you can walk out of the water looking

Speaker:

like one of the Charlie's angels.

Speaker:

And actually you did in the previous episode, you did a good job.

Speaker:

So hands down, girlfriend, because I saw the muscles and

Speaker:

the six pack and everything.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

We're going to talk about Luke for a minute.

Speaker:

Leo.

Speaker:

I don't know if we can call him a centric.

Speaker:

maybe a little bit of quirky, but Luke is quite interesting.

Speaker:

So Luke says to Emily, Hey, Emily, let me take you to lunch for your birthday.

Speaker:

And Emily smiling.

Speaker:

She got all excited and she was flattered that, oh, he was thinking of

Speaker:

her and he wanted to take her to lunch.

Speaker:

Well, guess where he took her to lunch.

Speaker:

He took her to the cemetery and Emily's like, oh, Okay.

Speaker:

And she's being a really good sport, but not only that it's a

Speaker:

conversation that he's having there.

Speaker:

So it's like Luke, you're really being kind of a creepy weirdo.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So the other thing that's interesting.

Speaker:

Is Luke apparently has dated more than one Marianna and his life.

Speaker:

He named Marianna number one, Marianna number two.

Speaker:

So there's been a couple of them and I guess they have not been good to him.

Speaker:

He's not had good luck with the Marianno's.

Speaker:

So he makes it a point to say, nobody should date a girl named Marianna.

Speaker:

All right, Leo, you're a little weird, but you know, we love

Speaker:

you cause you're kind of.

Speaker:

and Emily, thanks for being such a good sport because if it were anyone else,

Speaker:

they would have totally left immediately.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So Emily's like going to the market and she gets some food for her dinner party.

Speaker:

So she's going to be the one cooking and Gabe Caesar walking down the

Speaker:

street, he catches up with her and he's like, Hey Emily, Hey.

Speaker:

And he pulls something out of the grocery bag and he looks

Speaker:

at what kind of stuff she got.

Speaker:

And he's like, no, no, no.

Speaker:

Emily, like you can't serve this at your dinner party.

Speaker:

So he's like, okay, we're going to go to the market.

Speaker:

So he takes her to the market because obviously, I mean,

Speaker:

he is a really good chef.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And he's also French.

Speaker:

And so he knows the best items to pick out.

Speaker:

So he takes her to the market and helps her pick out all of these amazing things.

Speaker:

actually surprised that he didn't help her cook the meal, but I guess I would

Speaker:

have been a little awkward because then they would have been together.

Speaker:

But Emily, I saw her in the kitchen and she really put

Speaker:

together a pretty good meal.

Speaker:

It seems like all by herself.

Speaker:

So future wife, Emily, you know what you should have just taken Gabriel,

Speaker:

then you guys have gotten married and you could have had your own restaurant

Speaker:

and you could have also been the chef.

Speaker:

Think about that.

Speaker:

So as Gabriel and Emily are leaving the market, it starts pouring.

Speaker:

It starts raining really hard and they get completely soaked in

Speaker:

the rain and that calls for the perfect romantic moment, right.

Speaker:

Romantic moment.

Speaker:

And of course, you know, you're in France, it's all about the romance.

Speaker:

So they get back to outside of the building and they're having a conversation

Speaker:

and she says something in French.

Speaker:

And Gabe says that also means love at first sight.

Speaker:

And at this point he's gazing into her eyes and he caresses her hair.

Speaker:

And you can tell that he wants to kiss her.

Speaker:

And of course you can tell she wanted to as well, but she's got a lot of

Speaker:

willpower, this Emily girl, and of course, like Cinderella, she runs off into

Speaker:

the wilderness and Emily girl, I don't know how you're going to keep running

Speaker:

because you live in the same building, literally a floor apart from each other,

Speaker:

so Emily you've got bigger problems than you think, girl.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Let's talk about the peer character again, Mr.

Speaker:

Pierre, extra dramatic.

Speaker:

So the PR firm had this idea and they designed this luggage with his face on it.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

But he's not too happy at this point.

Speaker:

He's like, what?

Speaker:

Like, I don't want to be Mickey mouse.

Speaker:

And what I would say to that is Pierre.

Speaker:

If you smiled more instead of frowned, then you could be making mouse.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

You kind of look like Mickey mouse, but you're always frowning

Speaker:

and you're never smiling.

Speaker:

So maybe on a future episode, I want to see you smile.

Speaker:

We can turn that frown upside down and all you need is the Mickey mouse

Speaker:

ears, and you can be making emails.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I'm just joking guys, but I thought it was funny.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So season two of Emily and Paris, like when it comes to fashion, it is off

Speaker:

the hook and, couple of themes that I keep noticing in every single episode.

Speaker:

Is that beautiful lime green color just seems to be really in at the moment and

Speaker:

everything is also a bit more colorful the season, a bit more dramatic.

Speaker:

It really almost tells the story.

Speaker:

So Emily's friend, she's got like this lime green evening gown on at strapless.

Speaker:

It's got rushing, it's got rushing and it's absolutely gorgeous and beautiful.

Speaker:

And then Emily's got this like black dress that comes up to the knees, but

Speaker:

it's got these like huge, I mean, huge bows on the front and bows on the back.

Speaker:

And I don't know if I'm getting her choice, but I think, I

Speaker:

think I kind of, um, maybe she's trying to look like she's Ms.

Speaker:

Goody two-shoes and she's miss innocent.

Speaker:

So she's trying.

Speaker:

Not to look too sexy or seductive at this dinner party, but just look

Speaker:

like cute and innocent, but she knows that she's not cute and innocent.

Speaker:

And Emily, I'm not really a fan of that dress because there's

Speaker:

like too many bows on them.

Speaker:

And the bones are really big.

Speaker:

I mean, I'm not really a fan of Bose for the most part,

Speaker:

unless they are in kids' hair.

Speaker:

little kids.

Speaker:

Yes, they look cute and bows adults, tone down the bullies.

Speaker:

You guys.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Let's talk about Sylvie.

Speaker:

Sylvie is another character and I really liked Sylvie.

Speaker:

Cause I think she just, is like the typical boss that I've seen in some

Speaker:

other movies where, she acts like she really doesn't like Emily, but deep down

Speaker:

inside, she's got deep affection for her.

Speaker:

And so Sylvie shows up to the dinner party.

Speaker:

And Emily wants to hug her and Sylvia's like, no, no hugs.

Speaker:

I don't, I don't do hugs.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I mean, I can expect Sylvie saying that.

Speaker:

And so as a birthday present, Sylvie brings a cigarette case

Speaker:

for Emily and Emily's like, Sylvie, you know, I don't smoke.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And so Sylvie's like, well, you know,

Speaker:

there's a first time for everything.

Speaker:

So Sylvie knows that Emily's.

Speaker:

In over her head and she's got a lot going on and that she might need a cigarette

Speaker:

with all the stress that she's created for herself out of this situation.

Speaker:

so Sylvie thinks like Emily might need a cigarette one day.

Speaker:

So she might as well have one because she's created quite the stressful

Speaker:

scenario for herself in Paris.

Speaker:

Sylvie.

Speaker:

Your amazing love you.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

Emily seems to be pleased with herself at this point, because she, the is over and

Speaker:

she sees Gabriel and coming, you know, talking and they're reminiscing about

Speaker:

old times and they seem to be quite happy and they're smiling and, almost like

Speaker:

touching each other's arms a little bit.

Speaker:

So a little bit of that chemistry seems to still be there.

Speaker:

And then she's talking to her friend and she says two of

Speaker:

them together for my birthday.

Speaker:

It's how it should be.

Speaker:

Hmm.

Speaker:

Really?

Speaker:

Emily it's how it should.

Speaker:

I don't know if that's how it should be.

Speaker:

I think it's just that you think that that's the right thing to do.

Speaker:

Maybe how it should be is that if you actually really love Gabriel

Speaker:

and you've already screwed up the situation by betraying your friend,

Speaker:

you might as well just go ahead and go after the man, because I can

Speaker:

tell that you're in love with him.

Speaker:

He's definitely in love with you.

Speaker:

He is smitten.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

But you are.

Speaker:

Going to find yourself in a situation where you don't go after what

Speaker:

you want soon enough, and guess what it's going to be too late.

Speaker:

And you know what, to my audience, ladies, how many times have you wanted

Speaker:

to go after someone, but then you didn't because you were too shy or

Speaker:

you were too scared or you didn't want to be the first one to make a move.

Speaker:

And then you saw him and he was with someone else, and then he

Speaker:

got engaged and he got married.

Speaker:

And then you.

Speaker:

Crap.

Speaker:

How did I let that one get away?

Speaker:

That's the one that I, you know, should have married.

Speaker:

That's the one that was marriage material.

Speaker:

So ladies, if you come across a man and you really like him by really like him, I

Speaker:

mean, not just an infatuation or crush, I mean, you see that there's potential

Speaker:

for a life with him go after him.

Speaker:

And hopefully go after the ones that are single and not married, voted.

Speaker:

What I'm saying is that don't be afraid to make the first move because it is 20, 22.

Speaker:

And I think sometimes guys can also be shy and, you know, women need to

Speaker:

realize that, and some of them are not that aggressive and some are right.

Speaker:

But I think that if you really like someone it's worth it, I

Speaker:

mean, where are you going to lose?

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

So continuing on to the dinner party, they sit down to eat and

Speaker:

Comey says, oh, I would be happy if you were seeing someone to so.

Speaker:

Yeah, she would be happy, but, ah, interesting.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So then, they're about to like sing happy birthday to Emily

Speaker:

and Cammie realizes, oh my God.

Speaker:

Like there's no more wine.

Speaker:

Let me go and get the wine.

Speaker:

So she goes to Emily's apartment opens up the refrigerator, grabs

Speaker:

the wine and then there's the pan.

Speaker:

And she.

Speaker:

It's like, oh, this looks like Gabriel's pan.

Speaker:

And she, lifts up the pan and she sees the initials.

Speaker:

And this is a really dramatic moment because she knows, it

Speaker:

says pan it's his initials.

Speaker:

And she's probably has a million thoughts racing through her head.

Speaker:

Why is this pan in Emily's apartment?

Speaker:

And what is it doing there?

Speaker:

How did it get there?

Speaker:

Why does she have.

Speaker:

And she already knows that the most important thing to

Speaker:

Gabriel is his cooking and, his restaurants and, and being a chef.

Speaker:

And so if he gave that to Emily, he must really care about, or what, you

Speaker:

know, what's the deal what's going on.

Speaker:

And the look on her face is that she's really piecing

Speaker:

everything together at this point.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And I think.

Speaker:

The cookie on top was basically when she walks back to the dinner party and Gabriel

Speaker:

happens to be touching Emily's face.

Speaker:

Cause Emily had some food, our cake on her face and she saw the

Speaker:

way that he touched her and the way that he was looking at her.

Speaker:

And at that point, that solidified everything.

Speaker:

And then Kimmy knows.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

something definitely was going on.

Speaker:

So then they're giving a toast to Emily and Kimmy's like, oh,

Speaker:

I want to give a toast as well.

Speaker:

at this point she's livid.

Speaker:

And she says about Emily, that Emily pretended to be my friend while she

Speaker:

had an affair with my boyfriend and my boyfriend slept with my fake.

Speaker:

And at this point, she's really upset.

Speaker:

She smashes the champagne glass on the floor and she runs away.

Speaker:

Emily goes after her to talk to her and then Kimmy says, Emily, for once,

Speaker:

be honest, did you sleep with Gabriel?

Speaker:

And Emily just dares at her and she can't say anything.

Speaker:

And that's literally just the answer that, you know, came he needed because.

Speaker:

Not saying something is also saying something.

Speaker:

And at this point she is just devastated.

Speaker:

And at this point, Emily knows she is in deep trouble.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

so at this point, Emily knows like she really messed

Speaker:

up and she's in deep trouble.

Speaker:

Oh, Emily, how did you get yourself into this mess?

Speaker:

And I don't think you're going to be able to get yourself out of this one

Speaker:

easily because it's going to continue on season two and it's going to carry

Speaker:

over into season three to rest me.

Speaker:

So season three is also going to be quite exciting for Emily and.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

And then there's like a scene that I didn't talk about.

Speaker:

That was interesting too.

Speaker:

So it's peer in Julian.

Speaker:

Julian comes to see Pierre and you know, I have to admit Julian who looked

Speaker:

a little scared, but that's okay.

Speaker:
